Jan. 12th, 2018 08:29 pmDrove to Portland today to have my surgical consult - my chest surgery is on Feb 2nd, not far away at all. I'm a little nervous as I've never had surgery before, but I'm looking forward to the results as well. I was given my instructions on food, drink and medications the night before and morning of surgery as well as given a cleansing solution to shower with twice before I arrive.
I'll need my friend to drive me to Portland for the surgery, as I will be in no position to drive home with my chest cut open. It should only take a couple hours, but the surgeon had said something about staying overnight and bringing my CPAP was on the instructions, so I will have to clear that up - good to know where I will be sleeping, at my friends or at the hospital.
Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so I will take the opportunity to go clean the mess out of the boat. I figure I'll start with pulling the carpet out, then pull the insulating mats up, suck out all the water, clean the deck, see if the bilge pump is dead and put the mats back down.
That's a full day of work but it has to be done, more rain is coming. My dogsitting gig ends on Tuesday, I'd like a clean house to go home to. I'll need to get it done tomorrow so I don't have to leave Nigel here with them - I worry they will let him outside by accident. It's completely irrational, Nigel has shown no interest in the sliding glass door or the front door, but I still worry.
I have a plan, I'm not pissed off anymore, and I have to go to bed soon so I can be up at 4 am to let the dogs out.
